Barbara Castrucci began her training as a realist painter at 17 years old in the studio of portraitist Rebecca Harp in Florence then in Marc Dalessio’s private school.
While studying portrait and still life in the naturalistic tradition of the 19th Century British School,Barbara reproduced many of the works of the Great Masters of the past including Caravaggio,Raphael,the Flemish and Spanish 17th Century Masters.
Following the allure of the realistic tradition of portrait painting,the artist became a portraitist working mainly on commission.Her works rest in private collections in Florence and abroad.
In 2014 Barbara started her activity with the Grenning Gallery in Sag Harbor New York and in 2016 with the Jack Meier Gallery in Houston,the Galleria Tornabuoni in Florence and the New Britain Museum of American Art.
